The Cornwall Wildlife Trust’s Wild Penwith project team will be presenting an evening talk about the moors, heathlands and other habitats of Penwith at the Methodist Hall, Chapel Street, St Just on Thursday 31st January at 6.30pm.

The talk is beautifully illustrated with local historic landscape and wildlife slides. Hear why this is such an important and unique place for wildlife, and how historic uses of the land have shaped the landscape and vegetation we see today; from the earliest hunter-gatherers and farmers, to industry, new farms and smallholdings in more recent times. Find out about the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and take this opportunity to feed your ideas into our local work. Tea, coffee and cakes will be provided.

Cornwall Wildlife Trust protects wildlife on land and in our seas, and is the county’s leading wildlife conservation charity, with 14,000 members and over 90 Business Supporters. The Trust’s Wild Penwith project works with landowners across West Penwith, offering help with wildlife habitat management and advice on soil and nutrient management. It is supported through grant funding from The Tubney Charitable Trust, South West Water, the Environment Agency, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the West Cornwall Local Action Group (funded from the Rural Development Programme for England with finance from the EU and Defra).
