Sale of farms keeps estate agency busy
QUALITY HOME: East Crowndale Farm at Tavistock has been sold against a guide price of £1.25 million
QUALITY HOME: East Crowndale Farm at Tavistock has been sold against a guide price of £1.25 million

THE exodus from London and the South-East to the Westcountry continues at a pace, despite adverse press reports on the state of the money and property markets.

Devon and Cornwall rural property continues to appeal to buyers from farther afield, seeking quality country property away from the day to day rat race of larger cities and urban areas.

D.R. Kivell & Partners purely specialise in the sale of residential farms, equestrian property and quality country homes, and being a specialist, are able to dedicate their well trained and professional team to providing a tailor-made service to buyers and sellers.

They have agreed a sale of Renson Farm at Ashwater near Holsworthy. This 27 acre residential farm has a four bedroom detached house, which is subject to an agricultural occupancy restriction, a large general purpose building and 27 acres of quality pasture land in a most favoured farming area.

After considerable local and away interest a sale has been agreed against a guide price of £495,000.

They have also agreed a sale on East Crowndale Farm at Tavistock. This 70 acre residential farm with a quality character six bedroom house and well presented range of livestock buildings has a sale agreed to a buyer from Leicestershire against a guide price of £1.25 million.

New instructions include Higher Merrifield, which is an appealing ten acre residential holding on the edge of Holsworthy. The property is particularly well presented throughout and has the added attraction of an extensive range of modern buildings. It is available at an asking price of £495,000.

Heathfield at Morwenstow, near Bude is a most appealing equestrian property with a detached four bedroom (two en suite) bungalow, a useful stable block and sand school and comes with approximately 7.5 acres at an asking price of £480,000.

Higher Tretharrup at Crows Nest, near Liskeard is a most appealing privately situated smallholding with stunning views being only four miles from Liskeard. The property boasts three bedrooms and two reception rooms and has an adjoining traditional barn with potential to extend the living accommodation, subject to planning. Higher Tretharrup is available with 23 acres at a guide of £495,000.

Polyne at Trerulefoot near Saltash is a well presented equestrian property with two units of accommodation for dual family occupation. Polyne has good access to the A38 and is complimented by six acres of paddocks, a stable block and a sand school. This has just become available at an asking price of £625,000.

Other instructions too early to detail include; Drewsteignton, 70 acres, guide £1.5 million. Torrington, 72 acres, guide £1.1 million. Liskeard, 100 acres, guide £1 million and Crediton, 20 acres, guide £650,000.

The firm's Westcountry Property Exhibition proved most successful in Park Lane in the middle of April.

This enabled D.R. Kivell & Partners to show their country properties to a wide range of potential buyers, and was backed up by extensive advertising in the London and national press.

They also continue high profile marketing with a superbly located exhibition stand at the Devon County Show at Westpoint, Exeter on the 15th, 16th and 17th of May.
