Great news has been flowing into Trewithen Dairy this year as it has been shortlisted for three major awards.

The Lostwithiel-based dairy, which produces a range of delicious milk, butter, yoghurts and Cornish clotted cream, has been announced as one of the finalists for the prestigious Grocer Gold Awards 2015, within the SME Brand of the year category, and was also shortlisted in the esteemed 2015 Food and Beverage (FAB) Design Effectiveness Awards.

The company was also awarded with a special accolade on behalf of the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association today at the Royal Cornwall Show 2015, for its committed contribution to the Cornish dairy industry and the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Society.

Trewithen direct milk buyer and the largest bottler of milk in the county. The pioneering family business celebrated its 20th birthday last year and now employs over 130 staff at its dairy on Greymare Farm. Following considerable growth and a revolutionary rebrand in 2013, implemented by leading Cornish design and communications agencies, Absolute and Excess Energy, the creativity and community spirit continues to be recognised.

The esteemed 2015 Duke of Cornwall award celebrates the farm business that is judged to have most successfully diversified their enterprise within the county of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The award, originally presented from 2006 to 2012 for the encouragement of the teaching of traditional trades or skills, for 2013 onwards changed its emphasis to farm business diversification for enterprises run by farmers from buildings or land on their farm.

Although Trewithen did not win the Duke of Cornwall Farm Business Diversification Award, which was duly awarded to Nancarrow Farm, it received its special commendation at the Royal Cornwall Show on Thursday 4th June.
