Mastek offer a unique system to retro fit a 7.5m dribble bar to the rear door of any make of slurry tanker.

The patented system is called the “universal dribble bar”.

Mastek’s equipment is manufactured at their headquarters in Cootehill, Ireland.

The unique system is achieved by mounting the dribble bar directly onto a custom-built replacement door, with the fill point and splash plate moved to the rear of the dribble bar.

This allows the dribble bar to be fitted “on farm” within a matter of hours.

The dribble bar requires two double acting hydraulic services, one set for the folding mechanism and the macerator operated by a change over switch in the cab and the other service to change between using the splash plate and the dribble bar.

Mastek fit their own award winning “SuperCut” macerator to the dribble bar which was designed specifically to handle long fibre and debris by using 6 unique V-shaped cutting discs to shear long fibre and plastic. Each hose outlet has a one-way air valve, this gives an even flow and helps to prevent blockages.

The full specification “professional” universal dribble bar is fully galvanised with sprung loaded arm protection and weighs in at only 450kg, ensuring not to off balance the weight distribution of the slurry tanker.

Ireland has pledged to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20% by 2020 and 30% by 2030.

New rules introduced in June 2018 has prohibited many Irish farmers and contractors from spreading slurry with a splash plate in “derogation” areas.

This has resulted in dribble bars becoming the preferred method of slurry application.

Dribble bars apply slurry onto the ground, this minimises nitrogen loses and reduces leaf contamination which enables farmers to maximise the use of their slurry between grazing and cutting.
